We are so utterly grateful for the incredible shots our Osprey fans share with us on a daily basis on Facebook because we love seeing where your packs get to go! Here’s one of many, many awesome shots shared with us most recently (above).
Keep ‘em coming, Osprey friends!

Our friends over at 5 Gyres are always doing amazing things. Most recently they’ve embarked on The Last Straw Plastic Pollution Solutions Outreach Tour — a trip that will take 5 Gyres staff 1400 miles by bike down the East Coast in an effort to educate more than 50,000 people about what they’ve discovered in their voyages to our world’s oceans and lakes. You can follow the tour and find specific event dates and locations via the 5 Gyres Facebook page and its Blog. What’s more, you can pledge one cent per mile to support the tour and even take part in the 5 Gyres I Am The Sea Change challenge and win prizes for doing so.
Have 5 minutes? Take the challenge!:
To enter, follow the instructions on the flyer pictured above. That is: 1. Print the flyer out. 2. Spend at the very least 5 minutes cleaning up your environment (street, gutter, riverbank, beach). 3. Have someone take a picture of you holding your sign and your garbage up for all to see. 4. Like 5 Gyres on Facebook and share the contest link (encouraging friends and family to do so as well!) 5. Email your photo to email@example.com with the subject ’5 for 5 Gyres’.
Do the above and you could not only win some awesome prizes, but help 5 Gyres and the cause to clean up our environment immensely. The contest runs from October 3rd through November 6th.

Happy (belated) Earth Day! The day to celebrate was yesterday — but that doesn’t mean we can’t carry the festivities through this beautiful Monday. As a result, we bring you a photo we discovered through SFGate, The San Francisco Chronicle’s blog. In honor of Earth Day — and the ‘Mobilize Earth’ theme of this year’s day — the SF Chronicle dug into its archives and found some fantastic old bicycling images to share. This is just one of many images the newspaper chose to share (to check them all out, go here). We love the idea of digging into the old piles of images and finding ones that celebrate Earth and cycling. Do you have any old cycling photos that serve as inspiration or motivation? Share them with us! Post your image to our Facebook page or upload to our Flickr group and share the Lane Love!

Every Monday on Lane Love, we’ll be featuring bicycling news, stories and photos from around the world. Have a lane that you love? Send us a photo! You can post it to our Facebook page or upload to our Flickr group and we might just feature it here on Lane Love.

We loved this photo that the Adventure Journal posted last week. The message on the wall of the Erste Liebe (“first love”) bar in Hamburg, Germany is a perfect start to this lovely day. Now, get on your bike and feel good today!
Every Wednesday on Ditch Your Car we’ll be bringing you just another reason to spend more time on two wheels. Be it a photo, a statistic or an inspirational video, we want to keep reminding you about why riding is great!

Since it’s National Bike Month, we’re celebrating all month long with our Where’s Your Adventure? Photo Contest. Congrats to this week’s winner, Bill Church, who submitted this shot from Sundance, Utah. He not only scores a yearlong membership to Adventure Cycling Association, but also a brand spaning new Raptor 6 hydration pack!
Want to enter the contest too? Give us your most adventurous cycling photo; it can be from a gnarly section of single track or bombing down an urban hill on your single speed. Just upload your photo to our Flickr pool and tag it with “adventurecycling.” Every week during the month of May we’ll be picking our favorite to win an ACA membership and a Raptor 6. At the end of the month we’ll leave picking the winner up to you, getting our fans to vote and choose our People’s Choice Winner.
Note: Osprey will retain the right to images for future use in blog posts. And please note that we can ship to U.S. addresses only.
